Professional Development Specialist

Brandy L. Simula (she/her/hers) is a professional development specialist in the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Faculty Development. She holds career and professional coaching certifications from the World Coaching Institute, and is an active member of the Professional and Organizational Developers Network and the Graduate Career Consortium. 

In 2012, Brandy earned a Ph.D. in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a disciplinary concentration in Sociology from Emory University. Her research has been published in Sociology Compass, Social Sciences, Sexualities, the Journal of Homosexuality, and the Journal of Bisexuality. She is the co-editor of Expanding the Rainbow: Exploring the Relationships of Bi+, Poly, Ace, Kinky, Intersex, and Trans People (Brill, 2019). Brandy currently serves as a presidential appointee on the American Sociological Association’s Committee on the Status of Women.
